There is a scrapped addon device made specifically for this game, called the SNES Snapshot GX. This could be a reference to the Toad Shrine, because the toad saying it calls it handsome, but it could also be something else. There is a toad NPC in world 6 that references an unknown object as shiny, and handsome.There is a scrapped bowser fight in which you could throw bowser, just like the tail swing in Mario 64.Peach's Castle has a courtyard very similar to the one in SM64, except there is no statue but instead a fountain.The game uses a simple, but obscure Personalized AI function, with the capability to randomize courses based off of face detection.Mario Originally had wings on the back as the cape feather item, and might have been the inspiration for the wing cap.This may be the inspiration for the ship at Jolly Roger Bay. The brothers travel through worlds defeating different bosses, and when Mario arrives at Peach's castle to receive the letter from where the castle is, Bowser sends birds from the sky to cage Mario and to bring him to his castle to have a face off.
